Abstract

This paper reports a field research in a real life industrial setting that test a Technology Roadmapping process. Technology Roadmapping is an effective tool to assist companies in technology strategic planning. The roadmap generated for this process assists managers to monitor and manage their technology development. This paper illustrates step-by-step how the test was conducted through field experiment and industrial workshops (i.e. focus group). It gathers comments and opinions from managers about the practicality and usefulness of the process. The learning from this work is use as basis and guidelines for future practices. Finally, the implications of this research to managers and academics are discussed.
